Dundee’s Dumbuck .

 

I had intended to visit St. Brides Ring, an Iron Age homestead, on St.Brides day to see where the sun set but Lawers beckoned. Managed a quick visit today, 4 days late, instead. The local rock is igneous and not too suitable for carving but somebody had managed a fair representation, well better than Dumbuck .

Prieston Hill, Angus, Scotland

Received some splendid photos from Tiompan of a new find on Prieston Hill:

He explored the hill already in 2004 and 2005 resulting in the find of three decorated stones. Now there is this amazing fourth one, hidden under the gorse bush. It could well be that this area holds more secrets. Time (and Tiompan!) will learn.
