RAM 2008 – Gayles Moor

Thanks to Rich Stroud for organising this years rock art meeting and arranging access to Gayles Moor.
It was a good day and an oppourtunity to see a selection of carved rocks normally off limits due to the military firing range location.
Great to see the interest in the carvings and for me just the right number of people to keep it sociable as well. Team ‘side flash’ were also in action revealing the hidden markings on the rocks – i’m impressed every time i see those photos.
I was last on Gayles Moor in 1992, when Tim Laurie led a group around some of the sites. The main one i remember is the large boulder on the edge of the wood – still my favourite.
